Its active compound, curcumin, helps reduce swelling and fight infection. To use turmeric, mix a tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough water to form a paste. Apply the paste directly to the abscess and cover it with a clean cloth. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Repeat this process twice a day for best results.
