5. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is a common household disinfectant that can also be used to treat abscesses. Its antibacterial properties can help kill the bacteria causing the infection and promote healing. Dilute hydrogen peroxide with equal parts of water and soak a clean cotton ball in the solution. Gently apply it to the abscess and leave it on for a few minutes. Rinse the area with water and repeat this process two to three times a day until the abscess heals.
