Why Febrile Seizures Occur?
Febrile seizures are primarily triggered by a rapid rise in body temperature, usually as a response to an infection or illness. The most common causes of febrile seizures include respiratory infections, such as the common cold, influenza, or bronchiolitis, as well as gastrointestinal infections, such as gastroenteritis. Other possible causes may include ear infections, urinary tract infections, or even vaccinations. It’s important to note that febrile seizures are not typically caused by the height of the fever, but rather the speed at which the fever increases.
