Causes of Ulcers

One of the most prominent causes of ulcers is the presence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria in the stomach. This bacterium can weaken the protective lining of the stomach, leading to the formation of ulcers. Another common cause is the long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which may irritate the stomach lining and increase the risk of ulcers. Additionally, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, and stress can also contribute to the development of ulcers.

In addition, certain lifestyle factors such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and high stress levels can also contribute to the development of ulcers. Making healthy lifestyle changes can help reduce the risk of ulcers and improve overall health.
