Understanding Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a common age-related vision condition that affects many individuals as they reach their 40s or 50s. It is characterized by a gradual loss of the eye’s ability to focus on nearby objects, making it difficult to read small print or perform tasks that require close vision. Presbyopia occurs due to changes in the lens of the eye, which becomes less flexible over time. As a result, the eye’s ability to change its focus from distant to near objects becomes impaired.
