Causes of Red Eyes
There are several factors that can contribute to the development of red eyes. One of the most common causes is conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye. It is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Another potential cause is computer vision syndrome, which occurs due to prolonged use of digital devices, leading to eye strain and dryness. Eye injuries, such as scratches or foreign objects in the eye, can also result in redness. Additionally, dry eyes, eye allergies triggered by allergens like pollen or pet dander, smoking, lack of sleep, and swimming in chlorinated pools can all contribute to red eyes.
