Reasons Why Mastocytosis Might Occur

The exact cause of mastocytosis is still unknown, but researchers believe that genetic mutations play a significant role. The most common genetic mutation associated with mastocytosis is known as the KIT mutation. This mutation leads to the overproduction and accumulation of mast cells in the body. Other potential causes include environmental factors and certain infections. However, further research is needed to fully understand the underlying causes of this condition.
