Symptoms

The symptoms of Rett syndrome can vary widely among affected individuals, but they often include a loss of acquired skills, such as the ability to speak and use hand movements purposefully. 

Other common symptoms include repetitive hand movements, difficulty with coordination and balance, breathing problems, seizures, and intellectual disability. Girls with Rett syndrome may also experience a range of behavioral and emotional issues, such as anxiety, social withdrawal, and aggression.
