What Causes Whiplash?

Whiplash is typically caused by a sudden jerking motion of the head, such as in a car accident or during contact sports. Rear-end car collisions are a common cause of whiplash, as the impact can force the neck to quickly snap back and forth. Sports-related injuries, particularly in contact sports like football or hockey, can also lead to whiplash due to the sudden jolts and impacts experienced during play.

Roller coaster rides and other amusement park attractions that involve sudden and forceful movements can also result in whiplash injuries. Whiplash can also occur in non-accidental situations, such as from a sudden fall or impact while participating in physical activities.
